Ghost Hunters (1984)

Alison Bury's fans may be looking forward to her latest collaboration with the director Jeff Benner (the director of "Horse Girl"), the independent black comedy "Turn Me, Turn Me, Turn Me," but they may not know that Bury and Benner co wrote the film.

In fact, Bree is just one of the many excellent actors who write and act themselves.

When actors who become directors receive considerable attention because they break the boundaries of creation, actors who write their own scripts should also receive the same praise, especially when it creates a great film.

Now let's take a look at those classic films created by actors.

A Fish named Wanda (1988)

Michael Palin, Jamie Lee Curtis and Kevin Klein starred in A Fish named Wanda

As an outstanding robbery comedy, A Fish named Wanda was a great success for critics and audiences when it was released. Sharp humor and talented cast members won the favor of two audiences. This is also one of the greatest comedy victories of John Chris. He not only acted as a screenwriter, but also played the nervous lawyer Archie Leach.

In addition to the re combination of Chris and his old partner Michael Palin, it is easy to see that "A Fish named Wanda" was written by an alumnus of the Python Theater. This film skillfully combines the concept of funny with the real heart of the characters. Scenes like Ken's revenge for his pet fish are both funny and surprisingly worthwhile.

Ghost Hunters (1984)

Ghost Hunters may have spawned a huge IP, even an RPG based on desktop movies, but the original film in 1984 is still the king of all this.

This film was the highest grossing comedy ever made in 1984, and pushed the career of co screenwriter/star Dan Aykroyd and Harold Ramis to a new height of comedy glory.

We learned about the development of Ghost Hunters on the big screen, making the last film more interesting and exciting.

Ekroyd originally wanted to write this film as a movie about ghosts because his family had contact with supernatural events, including his grandfather's attempt to contact ghosts with the radio.

Soul Catcher (1997)

Gus Van Sant's "The Mind Catcher" is a very successful independent film. It has won more than 225 million dollars at the box office under the budget of 10 million dollars, and has received very positive comments.

But perhaps the most inspiring aspect of the film's success is that it won the Oscar Award for Best Original Screenplay, which was won by emerging writers/stars Ben Affleck and Matt Damon.

Affleck and Damon achieved great success by virtue of Soul Catcher, which is a good example of actors' breakthrough in Hollywood.

Their lifelong friendship also gave the film a real feeling, especially in the scene where Chuck urged Will to decadent aimlessly in South Boston.

Ranking List of Broken Relationships (2000)

John Cusack is a famous actor. He has played many great roles, but it is easy to forget that he is also a very successful screenwriter.

The lovelorn league table, adapted from a book by Nick Hornby, is a perfect example for actors to know their greatest strengths. Cusack plays the tired music lover Rob Gordon in the film.

People may think that the widespread attention to black glue will make this film obsolete, but the Broken Heart Leaderboard is still an interesting emotional film today, with unforgettable soundtrack as an additional surprise.

It even inspired Hulu's last short but well received TV series, in which Zo ë Kravitz played Cusack's opponent.

Jaws (1975)

Jaws is a breakthrough of young Steven Spielberg. It is a landmark film that redefines what is and should be a blockbuster.

The actor team worked well. The suspense was effective and obvious. Shark was one of the greatest movie monsters created by nature, which showed that an ordinary animal could be more terrible than any artificial animal.

Although Jaws is very popular, even loyal fans of the film may not know that screenwriter Carl Gottlieb plays a small role in the film - newspaper editor Meadows.

Interestingly, Gottlieb chose to play such an unpleasant role. He can be said to be responsible for the shark attack, but this proves that actors/writers can laugh at themselves in the role they choose.

The Last Duel (2021)

Ridley Scott's medieval epic film The Last Duel is a great film, worth far more than its meager box office.

What is striking about this film is that Ben Affleck and Matt Damon meet again on the screen as screenwriters, as well as Nicole Horofenser.

The two actors had excellent performances in their respective roles, especially Affleck, who added some humor to the film without affecting the serious tone of the film, which was refreshing.

In order to better portray the female perspective, Holofcenter is added to the film, which is also a wise move, because Margaret's story is true from head to toe.
